1. Ghana Airports Company Limited intends to undertake the development of the Airport City 2 Project and will apply part of its budgetary allocation to payments under the contract for ‘Consultancy Services for the Development of the new Airport City 2 Enclave at Kotoka International Airport (KIA)’.
2. The Airport City 2 Project is envisaged to be a mixed use development based on the highest and best use of the land. The project is to be developed with the objective of complementing and enhancing the operations relating to the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) Accra.
3. The services of Consultant is required to facilitate the achievement of the objectives of GACL as the Client. The Consultant shall be appointed by the client as the Principal consulting firm with full authority and obligation to act in terms of the construction and professional contracts. The Consultant shall be mandated to put together a technical team to provide a turnkey solution for the technical services required for the development of the project.
4. The scope of services include but not limited to the following:
• Pre-project requirements
• Project Initiation and briefing
• Concept design and feasibility development
• Design development
• Tender documentation and procurement
• Construction Documentation and Management
• Construction phase monitoring and commissioning
• Project Close out
5. The Consultant shall
i. Provide a verifiable proof of the ability to build, motivate and lead a cohesive professional team focused on delivering a project of the magnitude as envisaged by the client.
ii. Provide a verifiable proof of the ability to manage on behalf the client, big construction firms to deliver projects of the magnitude as envisaged in the Airport City 2 Project.
iii. Be required to propose innovative planning, design and procurement methodologies that could lead to verifiable cost reduction to the Client and the efficient execution of the project on time.
iv. Review existing documents e.g. planning scheme (and follow up for its approval from LaDMA); Project Layout Plan; etc
v. Prepare Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) associated with the project.
vi. Prepare Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) associated with the project.
vii. Monitor the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) to ensure compliance.
