- The Government of Ghana has received a support from UNICEF for the Review of Curricula for the Schools of Hygiene in the Country, and intends to apply it for Consultancy Services.
The current Curricula used for training the Environmental Health Officers and Assistants in these Institutions cover some components related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), but do not extensively cover what is required by the graduates to perform their duties effectively. It is therefore, necessary to review the Curricula to close the existing gaps.
The Consultancy Services (“the Services”) involves Reviewing the current Curricula being used by the Schools of Hygiene in the Country. The Assignment has an objective to mainstream training at the source to ensure that graduates in these Institutions acquire the requisite basic knowledge and skills for implementing WASH programmes effectively so as to minimise the need for training whilst on the job.
The duration of the assignment will be for a period of three (3) months.
The scope of the assignment will include Review of the existing Curricula and Development of TLMs using the revised Curricula for the Schools of Hygiene in Ho, Tamale and Accra.
The MSWR now invites eligible Individual Consultants ("Consultants”) to express interest in providing the services. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the assignment.
Shortlisting criteria are indicated below:
• A minimum Qualification of Master’s Degree in Environmental Science Management, Engineering and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene related fields. PhD is an added advantage.
• At least 10 years’ experience in WASH and Health-related training institution.
• At Least 5 years’ experience in Curriculum Development is critical for this assignment.
• At least 5 years’ experience in Measurement and Evaluation of Tertiary Institutions is relevant.
