- The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The Project will be implemented through five-interrelated Components, namely:
1. Climate Resilient Drainage and Flood Mitigating Activities;
2. Solid Waste Management Capacity Improvements;
3. Participatory Upgrading of Targeted Flood Prone Low Income Communities and Local Government Support; and
4. Project Management.
5. Contingent Emergency Recovery Component (CERC)
The objective of the consultancy assignment is to;
• prepare concept and preliminary designs for a new sanitary landfill and material recovery facility;
• detailed engineering designs for the new sanitary landfill and material recovery facility including bidding documents;
• supervise construction of the works for an engineered sanitary landfill and material recovery facility site at Ayidan, Ga South Municipal Assembly.
The consulting services (“the Services”) include technical studies, preliminary and detailed engineering designs, including bidding documents and contract management and construction supervision of the works. Each Phase will have its own Contract Form, that is, design Phase will be Lump Sum and Supervision Phase will be Time-Based Contract.
The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.
The shortlisting criteria are:
1. Core business of the firm should be Waste Management or Environmental Engineering for at least 10 years.
2. Relevant experience in municipal engineering services, solid waste sector, environmental and social impact assessments, preliminary and detailed designs, cost estimates, bidding documents and project implementation schedules planning for similar investments in developing countries.
3. Technical and Managerial Capability of the firm.
4. Must have availability of appropriate skills among staff
It is estimated that Part A will be for 5 months. The Part B will be for 10 months. The assignment is expected to start in November, 2020.
