- The Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, originally known as the Ghana Academy of Learning, was established by an Act of Parliament in November 1959 on the initiative of the late Dr Kwame Nkrumah, first President of the Republic of Ghana.
The Academy has acquired funds from the Government of Ghana to construct a headquarters and auditorium complex that includes guest accommodation, an auditorium, meeting rooms and other ancillary facilities.
The Academy invites EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (EOI) from interested and eligible HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT FIRMS/HOTEL OPERATORS with the aim of entering into a MANAGEMENT/APPROPRIATE OPERATIONAL AGREEMENT with the successful firm for the day-to-day management/ operation of its newly built facility.
Firms that apply must submit copies of the following as part of the EOI:
1) Business registration certificates and details of registration from the Registrar General’s Department;
2) Valid SSNIT clearance certificate;
3) Valid tax clearance certificate obtained for the purpose of this EOI;
4) Audited accounts of the applicant covering the last three years;
5) Must show evidence of managing at least a two-star hotel;
6) Evidence of good corporate and/or social responsibility:
7) Number of years of experience of the principals/top management of the firm in the hospitality or similar industry;
8) Reference(s) of relevant establishments currently being administered by applicant;
9) Administrative structure/organogram of applicant’s relevant operating establishment;
Only shortlisted firms will be sent an INVITATION TO TENDER (ITT)
Interested applicants may associate to enhance/fulfill all requirements of EOI, in which case a third party Agreement or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) indicating the specific areas of partnerships or association must be submitted as part of the EOI.
Applicants may call the Procurement Officer on 0302772002 between the hours of 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, (Monday to Friday) not later than a minimum of two weeks from the date of publication of advertisement to arrange visits to the site if so required.
All applications/EOIs must be addressed and submitted to the Executive Secretary, Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, P. O. Box M. 32, Accra.
Applications must be ONLY MARKED “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST, HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENTâ€.
Deliveries/submissions must be made by hand to the Reception of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences located at the Research Crescent, Casely Hayford Road, Airport Residential Area, near Water Research Institute, CSIR; behind Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra not later than 3 pm on Thursday, 12th January, 2017.
Any further enquiries must be made in writing, sealed and marked ENQUIRY ON HOSPITALITY EOI and submitted to the previous address given not later than 3pm on 11th January, 2017.
Deadlines will be strictly adhered to.
