- The Government of Ghana has received funding from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) toward the implementation of the Rural Enterprises Programme (REP). The programme covers 161 Districts in Ghana.
The scope of services under this consultancy is as follows:
The assignment will review the existing potential of livestock value chain: breed improvement, animal husbandry (feed production, animal health, livestock watering, dairy production etc.), financing, land
acquisition, infrastructure for livestock, processing of livestock and its products, storage, haulage and marketing, in line with and support to the Ghana Agricultural Transformation Agenda. It will especially
consider opportunities for agri-business development for youth and women and provide innovative financing options for agri-businesses along the livestock value chain. It will pay particular attention to the existing gaps in the livestock sector at the policy strategy and operational levels.
The assignment will further evaluate existing and current information, determine gaps and propose ways to improve the situation. The main output of the assignment will be a programme preparation report.
Rural Enterprises Programme now invites eligible and interested consulting firms to indicate their interests in providing the required services. Interested firms must provide information showing clearly
that they are qualified to undertake this assignment (this is seen by brochures, description of similar assignments executed, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff,
etc.). The consultants may constitute joint ventures to enhance their chances of qualification
