The GOVERNMENT OF GHANA identifying the ever-increasing influence of technology in daily aspects of life including education, intends to leverage the technological advancement in learning methodologies in order to expose school children to modern interactive and learning environment with emphasis on advance technology in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
In pursuit of the above and in line with Governments policy to improve on the interest and quality of teaching and learning of STEM education in the country, the Government through the Ministry of Education has been allotted funds to cover the cost of construction, supply & installation of educational equipment and training to regional STEAM centers. Funds has also been allotted for the implementation the Basic Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (BSTEM) programme at the Basic level.
The MINISTRY OF EDUCATION of the Republic of Ghana intends to apply part of these funds for the above-mentioned projects to cover eligible payments under Contract for Consulting Services.
The consulting services (“the Services”) include the supervision of construction works, supply and installation of Educational Equipment to Regional STEM Centers and the implementation of the BSTEM Program. The scope of works also involves the supervision of Training Services for regional STEM Centers in Ghana. The project implementation period is 24 months.
The Ministry of Education now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services.
Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.
The shortlisting criteria are:
1. Experience of the Consultant
2. Key professional staff’s qualifications and competence for the services. The Key staff shall include experts in the area of STEM Education and Training
3. The financial ability of the consultants. The Consultant shall have an average annual turnover of GH₵1,000,000.00.
4. Registration of Firm with the relevant professional Body
Interested Firms shall provide the following as part of their Expression of Interest:
1. Legal Status of the Firm (i.e Certificate of Incorporation and Certificate to Commence Business)
2. Valid GRA Tax Clearance Certificate
3. Valid SNNIT Clearance Certificate
4. Audited Financial Statement for the last three (3) years
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
