Request for Expression of Interest
This request for expression of interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 45233120 of 20th April, 2009.
The Ministry of Transport (MOT) of the Republic of Ghana has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) to support projects being implemented by its agencies, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under Consultancy Services for Preparation of a Plan for the Rapid Rehabilitation, and Development where needed, of Landing Sages and Reception Facilities on the Volta Lake.
The services will include but not be limited to the following:
• Preparation of a plan for the rapid rehabilitation, and development where needed, of landing stages and reception facilities currently used by the Volta Lake Transport Company Limited (VLTC) and the many informal boat operators around the lake;
• Development of standards and scheme designs for regulatory and development planning purposes, aiming to improve safe loading and offloading of passengers and goods at the most heavily used and/or unsafe locations.
The assignment will be implemented in the period from September 2011 – 31st March 2012.
The Ministry of Transport on behalf of the Ghana Maritime Authority now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, dated January, 2011.
