- The Ministry of Energy intends to apply part of its budgetary allocation towards the cost of Productive Uses of Electricity in Four (4) selected Districts in Ghana to support its programme of work. The services include but not limited to the following tasks:
• Collect and assemble baseline data on the socio-economic and demographic profiles of the four (4) selected communities in the Districts.
• Assess the potential impacts of the electrification options on the livelihoods of the target communities, highlighting particularly how the project is going to improve the social and cultural obligations of the disadvantaged groups, especially women.
• Identify, assess and quantify the potential productive uses of electricity.
• Evaluation of the costs of the productive uses of electricity (PUE) scheme and an assessment of its potential benefits.
• Assessment of alternative mechanism for the future operation of the program on self-sustainable basis.
• Assessment of the number of persons to benefit from the scheme and the gender make up. In particular, the study shall identify the specific opportunities that would be open to women and its impact.
• Development of strategy for the interface with the relevant Government, Corporate, private and civil society for implementation and future operation of the PUE scheme.
• Development of an educational and technical training programme for the staff of the associated Government and civil society partners of the scheme. A training programme shall also be prepared for the beneficiary communities.
• Make recommendation for the priority projects to be implemented under the PUE scheme.
