- The Energy Commission intends to utilise part of the Energy Fund to support eligible firms and individuals to carry out a Wood Fuel resource study.
Objective;
1. Identify and map suitable wood fuel resource and access stock density, accessibility and availability factors for each land use system, and ecological zones;
2. Identify and map key land-use systems or practices (e.g. tree fallows, woodlots, tree plantations, agro-forestry systems, isolated/scattered tree planting and shrub/secondary forest areas) in which wood-fuels are produced as primary product or as a by-product of other land use practices and tree growing activities in the country according to ecological zones;
3. Identify major wood-fuel producing committees and those most vulnerable to shortage of wood-fuel resource in the future;
4. Identify and map key land-use (e.g. farmlands, woodlots, tree plantations and agro-forestry) in which wood-fuels are produced as primary product or as a by-product of other land use practices.
Scope: The study should cover the whole country.
