- 1. The Inter-governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) is a specialised institute of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) created in the year 2000 by the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Governments. The mandate of GIABA is to support its member States in preventing their economies and financial sectors from being used for the laundering of proceeds of crime and terrorist financing.
2. In order to carry out its mandate, GIABA executes programs and projects and collaborates with several stakeholders, thus necessitating the acquisition of Goods, Works and Services. Purpose
3. The Expressions of Interest (E0I) is for the purpose of registration only as required under the new ECOWAS Tender Code and provided for in the Procurement Manual. Registration does not atomically guarantee that a registered entity will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued
4. The procurement areas are as follows: • Information Technology Items • Vehicles (Supply, maintenance) • Office Equipment • Office Furniture
• Stationeries • Publicity Items (Information, Communication and Education materials) • Office Supplies • Air Transport Services • Freight and Forwarding Services • Consulting Services (Technical) related to money laundering and terrorists financing • Training and Capacity Building related to money laundering and terrorists financing • Building Maintenance (Plumbing, Painting, Masonry and Metallic Works etc) Applications
5. GIABA calls on qualified Contractors, Suppliers, Service Providers and Consultants to submit a written Expression of Interest (EOI) for registration. Interested Agents / Firms / Individuals must provide a statement of capability and experience indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, categories of services and expected benefits, orgnizational details, financial capacity; list and types of equipment and materials available, etc.). This advertisement is open to all qualified entities from eligible countries. Processing and Evaluation
6. All submitted EOI will be processed and evaluated. Successful applicants will be registered and duly informed. Equally, those who are not successful will be duly informed.
7. Submission of EOI and Deadline Written E0Is are to be submitted to the address below by close of business (17H00) on Thursday, 22ndMay 2014. EOI can be submitted physically to the address, by post/courier or by mail. The Director General
