Description:
The Design, Revision And Supervision Of Construction Of Structures At 23 Districts (Consulting Services- Firm Selection).

The Government of Ghana intends to improve access to quality secondary education in the country. The Government has made budgetary provision and has approached Development Partners to support its Community Senior High Schools Program. In line with this, the World Bank has provided a credit of US$156million under the Secondary Education Improvement Project. (SEIP).
The Government of Ghana acting through the Ministry of Education, intends to apply part of the funds allocated for the above project to cover eligible payments under contracts for the supervision of construction of 24-unit Classroom (E) Blocks; 8 unit 2-Bedroom block of Staff Flats; Headmaster’s Bungalows and Canteen Blocks; Security Gate Posts, Paving, Drainage and Ancillary Works in 23 Beneficiary Districts.
The Consultancy Services (“the Services”) include the following:
o A review of the Bills of Quantities
o Conduct of Geo- technical studies at each site
o Provision of on-site construction supervision
o Ensure compliance with environmental safeguards checklist and
o Contract administration up to contract closure
The assignment is expected to be implemented over a period of 18months and six months Defects Liability Period.
The work is divided into Lots based on the number of schools in various regions summarized as follows:

4 Northern, Upper East & Upper West - Six(6)

Consultancy Firms may express their interest for work in any one or all of the above Lots; however, a consultancy firm will not be awarded more than one contract lot. Consultants that show interest in more than one Lot should indicate the order of preference.
The Ministry of Education now invites eligible Consultancy firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Firms should submit a company profile demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and experience to perform the services.
The short listing Criteria are:
o Experience in the administration of at least 3 similar structures of the same or bigger magnitude (Reinforced concrete structure measuring 1,400M2 on plan; constructed to 4levels) within the last 5 years.
o Possession of personnel required (Qualified and Professionally registered Professionals with at least 10 years post qualification experience) to carry out the above Consultancy services.
o Possession of adequate logistics (vehicles for supervising the work indicated in the particular lot above) and office equipment for the assignment.
Consultancy firms may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a Sub-consultancy to enhance their qualifications.
