- The Volta River Authority (VRA) intends to outsource the contract for the provision of dredging and aquatic weeds harvesting services in the Lower Volta spanning the entire stretch of the river Volta from the estuary at Ada to Akuse.
The VRA now invites eligible service providers, companies or organisations to indicate their interest in providing the following services:
• Dredging of Sand from the river channel and shorelines to deepen the original river channel and prevent the proliferation of both submerged and floating aquatic weeds;
• Harvesting of Aquatic Weeds and Converting harvested weeds into commercially useable forms (eg organic fertiliser, animal feed, gas for domestic use or power generation).
Interested service providers, companies or organisations must provide the following mandatory requirements and other additional information listed below:
Mandatory Requirements:
• Name of company and ownership
• Nature of core business
• Statement of capability
• Volume and capacity of operations
• Client references (include major services provided with details such as name of client, nature of work, fees etc.)
• Cost of providing the dredging and weeds harvesting service. (Capital, Operations and Maintenance costs with breakdowns where possible)
• Validity of the unit cost (number of months)
• Valid business registration certificate **
• Valid tax clearance certificate **
• Valid SSNIT Clearance Certificate **
• Valid Labour Certificate **
** For non-Ghanaian companies, equivalent documents from their respective countries are acceptable.
