Tender Name:: Delivery/Construction of Innovative Household Toilet for Low Income Communities

Tender Description:: 1. The Government of Ghana, acting through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development which is implementing the IDA funded Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) Sanitation and Water Project, has received additional parallel grant support from the World Bank Global Partnership for Output Based Aid (GPOBA) towards the construction of 6,600 household toilets and provision of sanitation services through the use of Output Based Aid (OBA) subsidies for target households in low income urban communities (LIUCs) of the eleven (11) participating Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies of the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA).

2. The main objective of the GAMA Sanitation and Water Project (GAMA SWP) is to increase access to improved sanitation and improved water supply in the GAMA, with emphasis on low income urban communities (LIUCs). Increasing access to improved sanitation will require the construction of toilet facilities to serve poor households in LIUCs. The â€œGAMA OBA Urban Sanitation Facilityâ€ is therefore to increase access to improved sanitation for low income urban communities in the GAMA by partially subsidizing the cost of provision of household sanitation services for LIUCs of GAMA.

3. The Ministry of Local Government acting through the Project Coordinating Unit (PCU) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the delivery/construction of INNOVATIVE TOILET TECHNOLOGIES suitable for LOW INCOME URBAN HOUSEHOLDS.
