- The Government of Ghana has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Drainage Improvement Works to Odaw Channel at Achimota.
The Ministry of Works and Housing now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for reconstruction and capacity expansion of the main Odaw channel between Achimota Forest road and George W Bush Highway (Accra-Tema motorway).
The works synthetically consist of the demolition of the existing damaged concrete lined trapezoidal section, and its further reconstruction with a new rectangular section (20-23m wide, 3-5m high) for approximately 900m by means of Φ600-800mm bored piling (up to approximately 12m depth) and retaining walls on the sides, and reinforced concrete slab at the channel bottom. The contract will be executed within 12 months.

- Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Procurement using Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” 4th Edition November 2020 (Procurement Regulations), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
