- The District Development Facility is a Performance based Grant System to the Municipal, Metropolitan and District Assemblies (MMDA) of Ghana. The overall objective of the Multi-Donor-Program is to promote good governance of MMDAs in terms of accomplishing greater satisfaction of local populations, promoting the political participation of local populations in decision processes and improving the MMDAs’ accountability.
The specific objectives of the DDF are to:
1. Mobilize discretionary financial resources to MMDA in order to support the implementation of their development plans and to improve the sustainable and demand-oriented provision of basic services at the local level.
2. Improve the efficiency and judicious use of resources by ensuring compliance with existing policies, rules, regulations and administrative guidelines.
